Janet Muse~

Senior Yoga Practitioner

Janet has been a serious practitioner of yoga for eight years, and has been certified through the IYC (International Yoga College) for three.  She completed her teacher training at the 7-centers School of Yoga Arts in Sedona, AZ with her teacher Ruth Hartung, the president of the IYC.  Her certification follows the lineage of Swami Satyananda at the Bihar School of Yoga in Munger, India: the first university for advanced studies in yogic sciences.  She has had the opportunity to study with great teachers in the West, as well as in various European countries.  Janet has experience in many different branches of yoga: hatha, vinyasa, astanga, iyengar, restorative, bikram, bhakti, jivan mukti, chakra, and kundalini.  She has studied each branch carefully and applies them together in her teaching.  Janet's goal in her teaching is to create a blissful experience of mind and body, and to impart the traditional teachings of yoga to the student.  She is also a practitioner of pranayama (yogic breath techniques), shatkarma (cleansings), kriya, and vipassana meditation.  She has dedicated many hundreds of hours to the study of the ancient yogic techniques.  Whether you attend a challenging asana (posture) class, restorative (recuperate mind and body), private lesson or workshop, you will leave her class with a higher knowledge of yoga, and most importantly, a higher knowledge of self.  Seek your truth!  Namaste

"Yoga can be used as a functional way to deal with life's major stressors.  It's amazing how when you close your eyes, focus on your breath, and draw yourself all the way down to your center, you can experience infinite space inside of yourself.  There is major freedom that dwells within that experience."  -janet muse

Mike Matsumura

Senior Yoga Practitioner

In March of 2003, Mike, a native New Yorker, walked into a yoga center in the Lower Eastside of Manhattan wanting to get into an exercise class. That yoga center was Jivamukti Yoga Center. He didn't know exactly what he was getting himself into but he thought it would be a great place for light stretching and a workout. What the class had for him was nothing he had ever experienced in his life. At first, Everyone just sat there and the yoga instructor started preaching some stuff that he didn't understand at all, and then the class started chanting the word "Om." He was confused and initially, he didn't like it at all. He didn't know anything about yoga, meditation, chanting, or spirituality. At first, he was turned off by this chanting and mediation stuff. He felt it was not his thing but kept doing it anyway. He tried to keep an open mind and then he started to understand it little by little. "If you allow yourself, you can learn anything and everything from anyone and everyone." That was the beginning of his Yogic Path. In 2005, Mike met his guru (teacher), Sri Dharma Mittra, with whom he studied in NYC at Dharma Yoga Center

(www.dharmayogacenter.com).  Mike eventually became a Yoga Alliance 500 hour advanced certified teacher in Dharma Mittra Yoga Level 1-3 and also became initiated as one of Sri Dharma Mittra's disciples right before he left NYC for Colorado, to be with his wife. Sri Dharma Mittra gave Mike the Sanskrit name "Sadhu Om," which means the righteous and holy. Mike is constantly continuing on his yogic journey, keeping his teachers and their teachings with him along the way. Mike "Sadhu Om" wants to thank Sri Dharma Mittra,Eva, his Jivamukti family in NYC, his family, Andrew Petker, Bija Studio, Cherie and 3 Om Yoga Studio, and lastly his wife and his better half for putting up with him. Mike teaches Dharma Mittra Yoga Level 1-3. Mike's website is www.dharmamittrayogacolorado.com

Allan Angle ~

Junior Yoga Instructor First Year

With clear instruction and a calm presence, Allan takes you by default into the fundamentals of practice while staying present in the here and now.. See if he can lull you into a 'no worry, no fear' state of mind.  Allan is the creator of Sanga Happy Hour Yoga on Fridays at 6pm.  He is available most Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for private sessions.

"I first became interested in yoga as part of my exploration into meditation.  Soon it was clear that the physical aspects (asana) were a challenge as well.  Yoga literally means union and that’s what I strive to bring to my personal practice and classes.  Although you’ll be challenged by the asana and led to a deeper connection with your body, you will hopefully join me in discovering the power of uniting body, spirit and mind.  I have found that at its best, a class can bring these aspects into harmony, bringing your attention to where your head’s at and how to tame the ‘monkey’ mind.  As we work through the physical aspects of yoga we have the opportunity to see how our thought process works and to take control of that by practicing ahimsa or nonviolence toward ourselves (even a critical thought can be harmful)." allan

Tana Pittman ~

Tana "Practice and all is coming" Patahbi Jois

"Keep up and you will be kept up" Yogi Bhajan

These two statements are really what yoga means to me and how it has transformed my life. Yoga started out very simply for me; I just wanted to be flexible. Now after nearly eleven years it has permeated all areas of my life and has created a balance: the true meaning of yoga. Through practice and keeping up I have acquired three Yoga Certifications, Bikram Style, Anusara Style and Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. It is a great mix of Hatha Yoga that allows my teaching to be informative, therapeutic and spiritual. I have taught yoga for 8 years and have taken students to retreats in Costa Rica and Buena Vista, Colorado.
I have had the great pleasure and honor to study with many wonderful nationally recognized teachers: John Friend, Gurmuhk Kaur Khalsa, Tim Miller, Beryl Bender Birch, Anna Forrest, Patricia Walden, and Gary Kraftsow, also the best Colorado teachers, Bhakti, Jeanine Armstrong, Nancy Nielson and Madhuri. I continue to attend classes; trainings, read, practice and most of all integrate yoga into daily life.
